Did you know that the Alzheimer’s Association, GA Chapter offers a social support group for person in the early stage of memory loss and their caregivers? Once a month, on the third Wednesday from 11:30 am – 1:00 pm, the group meets for lunch at an Atlanta-area restaurant. The occasion offers everyone the opportunity to socialize with others who are either living with early-stage dementia or are a care partner to someone living with early-stage dementia.
There is a lot to be said about the importance of making connections with other people who are going through a similar experience as you. Traditional Support Groups are wonderful but sometimes it is in the more casual settings where we are truly able to connect and find a kindred spirit in someone else. This group is full of kindred spirits who help each other through laughter and listening. And the food’s not bad either!
